Dear Jennifer and crew,

Thank you for refurbishing our pond. The new waterfall looks great. The smaller size fits so much better in the space and the reworking of the rocks are more artfully placed. It is such a pleasure to look out in the yard and not see that big black bucket, rocks stuck to the side, chunks of yellow foam hanging off of the ground. Even the fish seem happier!

Hi Jennifer,

I got home late last nite so had to look at the pond with a flashlight and even then it was awesome. I got a good look this morning and it is absolutely beautiful! Your crew did an excellent job and I especially appreciate the tidy work site they left behind and the two little trees were still in tact beside the pond. Thanks for the recommendations. Thanks again and please thank your crew for me. They did a great job. Had it not been freezing cold out last nite, I was tempted to sleep out by my babbling brook!

I was so impressed with your exhibit at the Washington Home and Garden Show several years ago that I kept your card and literature you provided until I was ready to move forward with this project. Dear Jennifer and Hillary,

We are writing to express our deep regret for not selecting Backyard Ponds to install our pond, and to commend your company for its professionalism and excellent business practices in all your communications with us. We were especially impressed with your willingness to work with us to bring the pond more in line with our budget. More importantly, perhaps, was your sincere attempt to ascertain if there was anything else you could have done differently or better to obtain our business after we signed a contract with another company. We have never had the good fortune of encountering a company that employs such outstanding business practices (virtually unprecedented in today’s business environment), and we applaud you fro desire to improve any weaknesses or shortcomings in your business.

In that regard, we must confess how utterly embarrassed we are that we ignored our better judgment and chose another company, Complete Lawn Service, Inc. of Vienna, VA, to install a “customized Aquascape pond.” We were seduced by the promise of more for less and, unfortunately, our experience to date has again proved the old adage that “you get what you pay for.” We are currently embroiled in a major dispute with Complete Lawn Service over a pond that meets none of the required dimensions (and therefore cannot sustain either plant life or fish), leaks, and looks more like a dry creek bed than a pond. We cannot even claim that we weren’t warned; indeed, you discreetly cautioned us about certain faults with Aquascape ponds.

Although we did not select your company to install our pond, we have complete confidence that your workmanship would have been exemplary, and far superior to any of the other companies we contacted. We are happy to give Backyard Ponds our heartiest endorsement and we will be glad to refer our friends and business colleagues to you for future business. In addition, please feel free to give any of your potential costumers our names and telephone number as consumers who are eager to share our “lessons learned”. In that way, we hope no one else will have to go through the same deep disappointment, agony, and frustration that we have experienced with our pond.

We wish you well in your future business endeavors, and congratulate you on our recent blue ribbon for “Best Pond” at the 2003 Washington Home and Garden Show in Washington, D.C. Well done!
